Martin Krir D.C.

Doctor of Chiropractic

Martin has a wealth of experience, having been a chiropractor for over 30 years. He uses both McTimoney techniques and also manipulation, as required. He ran his own successful practice for all of this time, whilst at the same time working in close collaboration with local GP’s. They formed a team that worked together in order to ensure the most effective ways to treat back and joint pain.

He relocated to Southampton and joined the Avenue Clinic in 2016. He attends courses regularly to make sure that he remains at the cutting edge of knowledge and implements evidence based practice when treating. He uses a gentle, effective method of treatment and aims to relieve patients of their pain in as short a time as possible. He specialises in treating those people with acute injuries that want to be pain free quickly, before it becomes a big problem.

Martin has a special interest in acute injuries and is available on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday mornings from 08.30 – 12.30

Matthew Savage D.C., MChiro

Doctor of Chiropractic

Matthew has taken over from Verity Moore at the clinic as she has left to have her first baby.

Matthew is from Romsey originally and attended the Anglo European College of Chiropractic in Bournemouth. He understands the importance of a holistic approach to managing patients, taking all aspects of their health into account. He has been working in Kent but wanted to relocate closer to his family, so he has joined us at the Avenue Clinic.

Sport has always been an important part of his life, having represented Hampshire at tennis and his school and college at various team sports. It was through a sporting injury that he discovered the benefits of chiropractic treatments and he is passionate about developing this area of chiropractic treatment further.

He does not only treat sporting injuries though, so do come to see Matthew for any of your acute or chronic joint injuries.

Matthew is available on Monday afternoons from 2.00 – 6.00; all day on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 08.30 – 1.30

Meredith Plumb

Psychotherapist

We are delighted to have acquired the services of this wonderful therapist. She is a Person Centred Counsellor who trained at P.C.C.S. which is a private training centre in Manchester under Pete Sanders who is a very prominent professor of the Person Centred theory of Carl Rogers. She qualified in the year 2000 and is a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists.  She has been in full time practice since qualifying. Person Centred therapy is client led and treats the whole person in a non-judgemental non directive way. Its purpose is to improve your quality of life and to explore the causes of chronic conditions such as anxiety, stress, depression, any other emotional or temperamental problem and chronic physical conditions such as back pain. Research shows that changing your mindset and brain biology can certainly help to lessen your pain. The therapy can be long or short because it is led by you – the client led and so you choose the duration of the therapeutic relationship.

The chiropractors at the Avenue Clinic are very aware that our patients with high levels or long duration of pain are at risk for developing psychiatric disorders and that they would benefit from treatment independent of physical treatment, which is what has led us to create our association with Meredith, in order to help the ‘whole’ of you get better. All of her consultations are by telephone and cost £40 per hour long session. If you would like a complementary discussion to make sure she can help you, call her on 0161 485 1744 or email her at and please tell her we recommended you!

The Office Staff

Our friendly, informed reception staff, Sue and Ellie, are available between 09.00am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday and 09.00am and 2.00 pm on Saturdays at the end of the phone to help you make an appointment.

Questions?

We welcome you to contact us with any queries you may have before you make an appointment. A chiropractor is usually available to answer any questions you may have about your problem and if they are busy with patients when you call, you can arrange for one of them to call you back at your convenience as soon as we can. Alternatively if you would like to come in for a complimentary short consultation, the chiropractor will discuss your problem and let you know if they think chiropractic treatment might be appropriate at no charge to you.
