Treatment at the Avenue Clinic is as Individual as You are

What To Expect

Treatment tailored specifically to YOU by your own chiropractor.

You will always see the same Chiropractor, in a private room – this is NOT an ” open plan ” clinic.

You will not be interviewed by Chiropractic Assistants and then be treated by your Chiropractor.

What will happen when I first enter the clinic?

You will be welcomed to the clinic by one of our friendly reception staff , Sue or Ellie, pictured here in reception.

The first thing that you will be required to do is to check in and fill out a New Patient Registration Form or you may already have been asked to complete this online. This should take no longer than about 10 minutes.

Please don’t be worried! Our staff are there to try to put you at ease and answer any initial questions you have.

Once you have completed the forms, you will then be called in to your appointment with one of our experienced chiropractors and you will spend time discussing your problem.

What does the appointment consist of?

You will receive a comprehensive examination that will enable the chiropractor to find out where your pain is coming from.

Just because you have pain in one part of your body doesn’t mean that the problem is there! We look at not just your problem areas but your complete health and will also check important aspects of your health like your blood pressure. The main focus of the examination will be on your problem area and why you have developed the pain.

The cause of the pain may due to a problem in movement a distance from the pain itself. We will try to establish the cause rather than just treat the symptoms. Then we can work with you to try to reduce the likelihood of the problem recurring and give you control over your problem.

What happens next?

We may treat you on the initial consultation, we may not. This depends on whether we need to consider your condition further or send you for x-rays or other tests before we can treat you. If you have a straightforward problem, treatment that day may be possible.

If there is not sufficient time to complete our examination if you have complex issues, then we may need to continue the examination on your next visit.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

No, you don’t. Although if you have any important medical information to hand that might be relevant, please do bring that.

Other things to consider

In order to give you a fully comprehensive examination,. you might be asked to perform certain movements on occasions so that we can see if you move correctly during your activities of daily living. Therefore you may feel more comfortable bringing leggings and a tee shirt to change into or something stretchy and comfortable. It is your choice – we want you to be comfortable!
