- There is a lot of sugar in fruit so we should not eat too much of it – particularly in juiced form.
- A medium sized apple contains sugar and also fibre but when you juice apples, you retain the sugar and lose the healthy fibre.
- We think that Coca Cola is bad for us because it is full of sugar but a can of Coke has 35g of sugar and an average glass of orange juice has 21g of sugar. ‘Healthy’ cranberry juice has 37g of sugar and those smoothies that we are told area great breakfast food actually contain between 20 and 35g of sugar – so they are NOT such a good way to start your day.
- The best fruits with high fibre and lower fructose levels are kiwis, apples, grapefruit, blackberries, pears, strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and lemons.
- Go easy on the fruits higher in sugar such as bananas, watermelon, pineapple, mangoes, papayas and grapes
- GO TO WORK ON AN EGG INSTEAD!!
